Tango Workshops with Christine Hawrylczak.
November 12, Christine Hawrylczak taught two workshops:
Lesson #1 for New Dancers. Tango basicsthe tango walk and the cross.   Lesson #2 - Understanding the Vals rhythm.  Here we applied our tango vocabulary to the cadence of Vals.   Attendees  applied the variations 1-3-1 and 1-2-1 to the basic Vals step.   Watch the video below for a summary of the Vals lesson,

Joaquin and Mackenzie

October 15, Joaquin Canay and Mackenzie Jones taught two Milonga workshops: Milonga Lisa and Milonga Traspie. After attending these workshops, attendees understood the fundamentals of Milonga Lisa vs Milonga Traspie.   Lesson #1 focused on how to apply the tango steps  to the cadence of milonga. Lesson #2 added in double steps, rebounds, decorations and more.

Christine Hawrylczak

September 24, Christine Hawrylczak taught two workshops prior to the Sunday Practica. Lesson #1 -  Experienced Dancers: Tricks for making your tango moves easier: Boleo, molinete, ochos, Ganchos.  Lesson #2 -  Foundations: Exercises for improving all your tango: Walking, balance, decorations, musicality.

April 29th, Travis Widrick and Avital Bg returned to Buffalo for 3 workshops. Lesson #1 - Milonga - Travis's 3 favorite Tango Dancing moves and how you can play, create and add decorations to ALL of your dancingLesson #2 - The Rhythmic structure in tango music. Lesson #3 - CALESITAS or CAROUSEL.

Riverfest Park Tango

Buffalo Tango hosted 9 FREE tango events from May to September at Riverfest Park.  These summer evening events were held outdoors on the boardwalk along the Buffalo River.  Riverfest Park is located on Ohio Street next to the Tewksbury Lodge and across from RiverWorks. We hope to return to Riverfest for Summer 2024.
